1. Who we are

AI Score is a South African AI Visibility and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) service for SMEs, operating under South African law.

2. What information we collect

When you use the free AI Score audit tool or contact us, we collect:

• Name and email address — to send your audit report and follow up on your enquiry
• Phone number — if provided, to contact you via WhatsApp or phone
• Website URL — to run the AI Score audit
• Business sector — to apply the relevant South African sector benchmark to your score
• Message content — if you send us a message via the contact form

We do not collect payment card information. Payments, if applicable, are processed through secure third-party payment providers and we do not store card details.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only for the following purposes:

• To generate and deliver your free AI Score audit report
• To respond to your enquiry or contact form submission
• To deliver paid services you have engaged us for
• To send you your monthly AI Score report (retainer clients only)
• To follow up on your audit results (once only, unless you engage further)

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing, and we do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit opt-in.

4. Who we share your information with

We share your information only with the service providers required to operate AI Score:

• Netlify — website hosting and form processing (USA, GDPR compliant)
• Resend — transactional email delivery for audit reports (EU, GDPR compliant)
• Google Workspace — email and document storage for service delivery
• Calendly — appointment booking (USA, GDPR compliant)

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information with any third party for any purpose.

5. How long we keep your information

Audit leads are retained for 12 months from the date of submission. Client records are retained for the duration of the engagement plus 3 years for accounting purposes, in line with South African tax law. After this period, personal information is permanently deleted.

6. Your rights under POPIA

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA, Act 4 of 2013), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information we hold
• Delete your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Object to the processing of your personal information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

To exercise any of these rights, email found@aiscore.co.za with the subject line "POPIA Request". We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure traffic and improve the service. GA4 uses anonymised data and does not store personally identifiable information. We do not use advertising cookies or any third-party tracking beyond analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Our platform includes industry-standard security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Content-Type-Options). We do not store sensitive financial information on our servers. Access to client data is restricted to the AI Score team.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated. Continued use of our service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
